Decisions, Decisions

Decision, Decision_canva.png

Life is filled with decisions every day, because man is a free moral agent, i.e., he has the power of choice. We all make decisions all of the time. For example, we decide what we will eat, what we will wear. We decide where we will go to college, and for how long. We decide who we will marry, what doctor to go to, what car we drive, and what church we are a part of, and attend. On and on we could go ad infinitum i.e., the list is endless. Please remember that decisions we make bring responsibilities and have consequences.

We cannot avoid making decisions, because, when we decide we will not choose or make a decision, we are in fact choosing or making a decision. Think on that for a moment! One of the greatest decisions we will ever make in life, is whether we will serve God, or whether we will serve the devil. Believe me, that decision has great responsibilities and eternal consequences. That decision will come easier when our will to please and serve God outweighs our will to love and please the world and the devil.

In Joshua 24: 14-15 we read: “Fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods (idols) and serve the Lord. And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” The people were given the alternative, serve God or their idols. It was decision time, and only they could make it!

In Matt. 16: 24, 26, Jesus said: “If anyone desires to come after Me let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or, what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Do you see the alternative: “deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Jesus” or “try and gain the whole world and lose your soul?” My friend, it’s your choice. It’s decision time! Remember, you will live with your decision throughout eternity! Think on these things.
